Derek Boshier painter, sculptor, photographer and printmaker. He studied painting and lithography at Yeovil School of Art in Somerset, Guildford College of Art and the Royal College of Art in 1959-1962, London. He came to prominence in the early 1960s as part of the British Pop Art movement along with David Hockney, Allan Jones and R.B. Kitaj. After studying at the RCA, Boshier went to India on a one-year scholarship. On his return to England he adopted a hard-edged geometric style, often using shaped canvases. During the course of his career, he has worked as a painter, object maker, conceptual artist, filmmaker and photographer.
