Edwina Leapman, painter and teacher, was born in 1934 in Hampshire. She studied at the Slade School and Central School of Arts in London. She taught at various art schools and had her first solo show at New Art centre in 1974 and at Annely Juda Fine art in 1976 and in 2002. Her interest in abstraction was informed by painting from New York of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Her works are held in major international public collections and museums including the British Museum, Tate Gallery and Arts Council, UK; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia; Israel Museum, Jerusalem, Israel.
