Lydia Silvestri was born in Chiuro, Italy, in 1929, lives and works in Milan. Student of Marino Marini, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. In 1956 (only Italian sculptor present), and in 1960, participates in the Venice Biennale. Carrying out important work on public buildings and individuals in England, the USA, Japan, India, Siam, Cambodia, Java, Sumatra and Hong Kong. She has taught sculpture at Bath Academy of Art in England in the years 1953-54 and 1963-64, in New York in 1960, in Hong Kong in 1961 and at the Accademia di Brera from 1966 to 1985.
