‘Norman Ackroyd and Selwyn Image first met as students in December, 1961. Norman was in his first year at the Royal College of Art, London, and Selwyn was at Cambridge University.
Selwyn continues an annual tradition, initiated by his great-uncle and namesake, of producing a Christmas carol for his family and friends. The idea of bridging Norman’s etchings together with the carols is one that has been discussed for many years. It seems particularly apt that this volume should finally appear on the twenty-five anniversary of their first meeting.’
