Description

An Albert Irvin original screen print sent out by the artist as a Christmas card. Signed and dated 2000 in lower right margin by the artist.  Printed by Advanced Graphics at Kelpra Studios. The card is attached to the backing mount.  Framed in light oak. Appears to be in very condition.

Albert Irvin Christmas Cards

Albert Irvin sent out Christmas cards from the 1950’s. an early survivor being a colour linocut. His previous print making was with Christmas cards, experiment with lithography with Alan Cox at Folker Skulima and few experimental pieces using aquatints and linocuts when teaching at Goldsmiths. His print making started in 1980 when he made his first screen print in collaboration with Advanced graphics.

Irvin’s practise of sending out Christmas cards continued when he began working with Advance graphics in 1980. ‘Occasionally becoming as Christmas cards and, if both artist and printer considered them to be successful, they was made into a larger image. Such a one was ‘Simone ll’ (there is no Simone l’ )…’ another was ‘Creekside’
