Anthony Gross made this etching when he was travelling around Spain in that year; in fact it is worth noting that this is his only etching of a bullfight that he made. The village where he stayed near the famous village of Ronda, overlooks a small valley of olive groves and dates back to Berber settlers. Many homes had been abandoned and had fallen into disrepair as the population left, firstly for Ronda then further afield to colonise America & Cuba.
