‘Patchwork Quilt’ not dated but circa 1930, published by Fanfrolico Press. A celebration of the joys of wine by 4th Century Roman poet, Decimus Magnus Ausonius (310 A.D. – 393 A.D.). Translated into English by Jack Lindsay with ten half page and one full page wood engravings by Edward Bawden. Limited edition of 400 copies hand printed by Lindsay, of which this is number 340. Printed on hand made paper, and numbered by hand on final page. Slim octavo, not paginated. Bound in original blue blind stamped buckram, top-edge gilt and others uncut; spine slightly faded, prelims slightly discoloured, otherwise a very good copy. Size 235 x 155mm (9.25 x 6 inches)
