A wood engraving printed from the original woodblock for the Douglas Cleverdon edition‘Engravings 1928-1933 by Eric Gill’.  Printed by Gill and Hague and published by Faber & Faber Ltd in 1934.  The sheet has some foxing in the margins, else in good condition.

Item details

An original wood engraving by Gill for ‘Canticum Canticorum’, Page 14, published by the Cranach press, 1931. This is the later printing when the woodcut was printed from the original woodblock for the Douglas Cleverdon edition ‘Engravings 1928-1933 by Eric Gill’, page 62, printed by Gill and Hague, published by Faber & Faber Ltd in 1934. This edition is rare and was printed in a small edition size.
