A small wood engraving printed from the original wood block by Eric Gill and Hague. Printed on machine made paper it was published by Douglas Cleverdon in ‘Engravings 1928-1933 by Eric Gill’ in 1934. In good condition.

The wood engraving was originally cut to be used as the tailpiece on page 310 of Chaucer’s ‘Troilus and Criseyde’ , No. 50 of the publications of the Golden Cockerel Press, 1927. The wood engraving was printed from the original woodblock by Eric Gill and Hague for the Douglas Cleverdon edition ‘Engravings 1928-1933 by Eric Gill’. This was published by Faber & Faber Ltd in 1934, therefore printed on machine made paper.
