One of 400 copies printed on paper specially manufactured for this edition with the number ‘4’ in top right corner as issued. In good condition. Not mounted / matted.

Reference: Physick 45, Ditchling 44, 4.  Proof of a unused illustration to ‘The Devil’s Devices’ by H.D.C.Pepler, Hampshire House Workshops, 1915. The block was subsequently used for illustration on the front cover of ‘Ritus Servandus In Benedictione’ published by the St. Dominic’s Press, Ditchling, Sussex, 1919; on page 31 of Wood-Engravings, No44 of the publication of the St. Dominic’s Press, 1924as Plate 4  of  ‘Engravings by Eric Gill’, published by Douglas Cleverdon, printed by The Fanfare Press, 1929. Lettered in reverse ‘INRI’ .
