An original wood engraving printed from the original block for ‘Engravings by Eric Gill’.  Published by Douglas Cleverdon, printed by The Fanfare Press, 1929. One of 400 copies printed on paper specially manufactured for this edition with the number ‘92’ in top right corner as issued. Very good. Not mounted / matted.

Reference: Physick 400, Ditchling 118, 92 .  Portrait head, left profile. Proof 1926. Signed in reverse ‘EG’. Cleverdon states that this this state was printed in an edition of 25 impressions. The second state was subsequently used as plate 92 of   ‘Engravings by Eric Gill’, published by Douglas Cleverdon, printed by The Fanfare Press, 1929. Printed form the original block. One of 400 copies printed on paper specially manufactured for this edition. With the number 48 on top right corner of margin as issued.
