Physick 191. 1921. Please read the Physick of which I have taken a photograph of. Eric Gill had no impressions in his collection and files, which were eventually given to the Victoria and Albert Museum. There is no record of the edition size. This is a rare signed impression.
William Weston Gallery, London,in 1983, forty years ago. (Catalogue ‘Original Print Making in Britain (Part ll) 1890-1939’ no.81.) Had an impression for sale, signed in pencil in full name to the lower right margin. His impression was printed on Japon and laid onto a laid paper backing sheet as originally sold by the artist. In fact many of the signed Eric Gill wood engravings that we have by and are signed by Gill, are laid onto a backing paper.
