Eric Gill ‘Naked Youth’ and ‘Naked Girl Looking Back’

Description

Two Eric Gill wood engravings on one sheet printed from the original wood blocks by Gill and Hague in 1934. Printed on machine made paper and unsigned as issued.  The sheet has a light scattering of foxing, all of which are in the margins and can be mounted out, otherwise in very good condition.

The woodcuts were subsequently printed from the original woodblocks, page 10 for the Douglas Cleverdon edition ‘Engravings 1928-1933 by Eric Gill’, printed by Gill and Hague, published by Faber & Faber Ltd in 1934. This edition is rare and was printed in a small edition size.
