Endpapers have discoloured otherwise a very good copy. ‘This edition of the Jew of Malta has been planned by C. Sandford and F.J. Newbery and printed for THE GOLDEN HOURS PRESS at the Chiswick Press. The type used is “Bembo,” revived from an early Aldine fount. The paper is pure rag handmade. By arrangement with the Clarendon Press the text used is that of the Standard Oxford “Marlowe,” edited by C.F. Tucker Brooke, following in the main the 1633 quarto version, which though corrupt and itself possibly only a reprint revised from an earlier edition, is..
