Description

Francis Bott mixed media painting on card titled ‘Espaces Concertes’, 1973.  Signed and dated ’72 by the artist in pen in lower right corner. The painting has light surface wear, a small indentations; a few handling folds, which are mainly noticeable in margins and a small tear in lower margin outside image. I am unable to photograph them as they are not very noticeable. Otherwise in very good condition.

Provenance: Purchased at the ‘Works from the  Studio of Francis Bott (1904-1998)’ Sale, Christie’s, London, 16th November 2006.

‘Bott’s style continued to develop throughout his career and in the 1960’s and the 1970’s, he embarked on two major pictorial series, namely Espaces Concertés and Cathédrales.
