Description

Francis Bott lithograph made in 1960, is based on ‘Schwebendes Monument’  which we also have for sale. The lithograph is printed on very thick blind stamped paper and is signed by the artist in pencil. The sheet has some light spotting and some light handling folds in margins due to the soft paper, else very good.

Provenance: Purchased at the ‘Works from the  Studio of Francis Bott (1904-1998)’ Sale, Christie’s, London, 16th November 2006.

‘Bott’s style continued to develop throughout his career and in the 1960’s and the 1970’s, he embarked on two major pictorial series, namely Espaces Concertés and Cathédrales.
