A screen print which is titled ‘Stones and Bones: VI and IX’ and on the verso ‘Stones and Bones VIII’. The screen-prints on one sheet are proofs and were printed by Kelpra Studios. The folio was eventually published by Kelpra Editions in 1978 in an edition of 50 and 15 proofs. The sheet has some light handling creases else good.

Reference: Levinson 296-298:The print portfolio Stones and Bones replicates something of the feel of Piper’s sketchbooks, containing landscapes, figure studies and sketches of prehistoric and Christian carvings. The prints reproduce Piper’s photographs and sketches, sometimes two to a page and with annotations and quotations. There are 27 screen prints all relating to a wide range of techniques
The artist and publisher consider it a portfolio (although the contents page refers to the portfolio as a book) in which collectors can interchange the prints, displaying whichever they feel is appropriate to their mood.
