First edition thus with Ardizzone illustrations , first published by Collins 1928. 8vo. 158 pages. Bound in red cloth with silver lettering on spine. Original hardback in original dust wrapper. On front loose endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Dust wrapper and black and white line drawings by Edward Ardizzone . Dust wrapper is clipped, slightly creased along edges but no tears. Inside a former owners inscription has been cut out of the blank front endpaper. Loosely inserted is The Scottish Arts Council label for an exhibition, in which this copy was lent for. A very good almost fine copy.

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
