‘Topielica’ means Demon
Topielica – in Slavic beliefs, a sinister demon living in water reservoirs, considered the drowned man’s partner . Drowned woman was the soul of a young girl who drowned herself out of despair or grief, or was drowned on purpose by someone.Drummers appeared as young girls with long, fair hair. With calls for help or singing, they lured young men into drowning them.
