Paris, Editions “Cahiers d’Art”. 1937, First Edition. Card. Folio – over 12″ – 15″ tall. Loosely inserted are two typescripts, the first a letter to (Myfanwy) Piper from an unknown correspondent, dated August 8th 1937, from Church Farm, Warehorne, Nr.Ashford, Kent. The letter was to enclose a cheque, thanks Mrs. Piper for entertaining him/her, mentions a stormy session of the Group Theatre (for which Piper designed costumes and scenary in 1937) and asks her to remember him/her to John Piper. The second sheet just lists two alternative titles for a book ‘Frottage and College by Max Ernst’. lacks upper cover and spine defective, otherwise complete with the two mounted plates.
