8vo. 184pp. Bound in olive green cloth with silver lettering on spine Illustrated with eight black and white line drawings and colourful end papers also by Ardizzone. Dust jacket is worn faded with pieces missing. Some light marks on the cloth, however the binding is solid and clean with just some light spotting on title page.

Written by H. J. Kaeser who was a German Jewish author, many of whose books have been translated into English and published by OUP. ‘Mimff chose to stay by himself on a desert island and live like Robinson Crusoe. But somehow it didn t quite work out as he had planned ….’

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
