8vo. 183pp. Bound in red cloth with silver lettering on spine . Illustrated with ten black and white line drawings and colourful end papers by Ardizzone. Dust jacket is worn and a little faded, some red dye from the cloth has bled onto the dust wrapper along the Lower margins, else good. Quite rare.

Written by H. J. Kaeser who was a German Jewish author, many of whose books have been translated into English and published by OUP. ‘Mimff is growing up and, if there are sober implications behind his adventures with Jani-the fourteen-year-old Hungarian refugee who is searching for his mother….’

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
