Bound in light blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine. 314pp. Numerous black & white text sketches illustrations throughout by the author’s brother Edward Ardizzone. Signed by artist, Edward Ardizzone in ink on front end paper, below is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. The Edward Ardizzone designed wrapper is not clipped, although there is no price on it. There is some light wear to the dust wrapper along the extremities, slightly tiny tears and a small piece (chip) missing. A very good copy. An anthology of children’s stories compiled by the Crime Dagger Winner and Children’s author Christianna Brand.

Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
