12mo. Bound in blue cloth with gilt design of Nurse Matilda and gilt lettering. 128pp.Illustrated with line drawings by Edward Ardizzone. On front blank endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Dust wrapper not clipped, is worn, rubbed and dusty. Cover is bright and clean. Inside there are some light handling folds, the odd mark and two pages have some brown marks in the margins, otherwise a very good.

Nurse Matilda was eventually made into a film titled Nanny McPhee . In this story ‘The Brown children go to stay with their Aunt Adelaide in London and Nurse Matilda has to be called in again….’
