4to. Not paginated. [32pp] Bound in pictorial paper cover boards, in matching dust wrapper. Illustrated throughout, in line and colour, by Ardizzone. On front end paper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. The book is in very good condition with some light surface abrasions in top left corner of front cover; three small puncture holes (?) in back hinge of cover; inside there is a light soiling mark, otherwise very clean. The dust wrapper does have wear and creases; dusty with a water stain with some light foxing; plus three tears all about 2.5cm long, one of which has been repaired with masking tape on verso of wrapper. Loosely inserted is The Scottish Arts Council label for an exhibition, in which this copy was lent for.

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
