As usual with these early catalogues, it is not illustrated, items listed are just titles, medium and prices. Sheet has three old horizontal folds and overall crease marks on verso paper is rubbed in top right corner,else good. Rare.

The Penwith Society was founded in 1949 by Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon, Bernard Leach, Sven Berlin and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, amongst others. This catalogue states that the president is Sir Herbert Read, Denis Mitchell now the Chairman, the Penwith Society was founded in memory of Borlase Smart.As this issue has 22 on the front cover, I suspect this is the twenty second exhibition of the society, four being held every year from 1949 when the Penwith Society started exhibiting.
