Philip Sutton ‘Great Australian Bight’



Lithograph printed on J.Green hand made paper with the blind stamp. The lithograph was printed by the Curwen Press in 1966. Signed and numbered by the artist in pencil. No.160 of 250 copies. The print has some very light handling folds in paper on left margin. There is a damp stain in lower margin. The print has been framed so there is a light brown mark around the edge. It is in good condition but not pristine.

This print is in the Tate Collection and was presented by Curwen Studio through the Institute of Contemporary Prints in 1975. This print forms part of a series that Sutton made after his  travels to Australia and Fiji in 1963–64. His wife, Heather made a film of Philip Sutton Working in Fiji.
