First UK edition. Originally published in the US by Harcourt, Brace & Co. in 1958. 8vo. 192 pages. 1st edition. Bound in green cloth with blue lettering on spine and a small design on front cover. Dust wrapper is clipped, slightly dusty and frayed along top edged. Illustrated with fine quality black and white illustrations by Edward Ardizzone. On front loose endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Endpaper s a little foxed, else very good copy.
