Ramkalawon. States ‘The prints produced with Kelpra during this period remain ambitious, for example the two works outlying London Districts 1 and ll….. Complicated instructions were sent to Prater, which give the impression that Kitaj was embarking on another set of prints about London:’ I had wanted to begin a really dark London Series’.
He (KItaj) asked Prater to keep all the tones down and dark, though he requested ‘These highlights in the shop windows and the underground sign can as I’ve said remain constant and bright’.
