Raoul Dufy lithograph after a painting titled ‘La Rue Pavoisée‘ printed by Mourlot 1951. Printed in colour on watermarked ‘Arches’ wove paper with large margins. On verso the French text reads ‘Large Margins before letters’. Printed by Mourlot, the famous lithographers, the image is based on a painting that Dufy made in 1907. The sheet is slightly discoloured due to age, there is a tiny brown mark in right margin and a light handling folds in the lower margin edges, else very good.

Dufy did several paintings based on Bastille Day Celebrations, of which this is one. The original now being in Centre Pompidou. The image was also used for an exhibition by Dufy titled ‘La Fauvisme’ which was held from ‘Juillet a Septembre’ 1951, at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris.
