Robert Austin etching signed in pencil in left margin. Printed on hand made paper with a watermark. In excellent condition. This etching, an early work, depicts two beggars, one blind, asking for alms. The title, ‘Mendicanti’, indicates these are Italian mendicants – people who live off begging – whom Austin observed during his time at the School of Rome.Made in 1924.
