Sandra Blow study for her screenprint ‘Cambridge’. Screenprint on paper with additional collage element, made circa 1998. Two sides with tape margins, surface damage to top edge, possibly intentional, pin-holes to purple screen-printed area. Unevenly cut by the artist along lower edge. Some light spotting else very good.

These Sandra Blow works were all acquired at the Studio sale. They are mostly late period collages; the family advised us these were among the very last works she produced. The comparison with Matisse is apposite, she was arranging pre-coloured paper or card into collages in the same manner as the “papiers découpés” to which Matisse devoted his last years.
