Stanley William Hayter engraving with soft-ground etching and scorper in colours on BFK Rives wove. Signed, dated, titled and inscribed E 3/5 in pencil, an artist’s proof aside from the edition of 50. Made in 1984-85. There is a light brown mark in centre top margin, just outside plate mark, else very good.

Reference: Black & Moorhead 445. Alternative title ‘Sagittaire’. The plate was began in 1984. There were Artists Proofs numbered 1-5 and a limited editon of 50, printed by Hector Saunier on B.F.K.Rives paper. The edition was acquired by Shimbun Santica, Kobe, Japan.
