Bound in pictorial cloth printed in colour cover and endpaper designs, colour frontispiece and six double-page colour drawings by Edward Ardizzone.Dust wrapper is price-clipped lightly foxed and worn with small tears along top margins, else very good. On front blank endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray., otherwise the book is fine. Loosely inserted is The Scottish Arts Council label for an exhibition, in which this copy was lent for. A story for children set in Formentera in the Balearics.

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s. Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
