Large square 8vo. Original pictorial boards. pp. [iv], 5-59 + [ii]; illustrated with 3 double-page coloured plates and 20 other half-page line drawings. On front loose endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. SIGNED by the artist, Edward Ardizzone. The binding has light rubbing along extremities, light fold on front endpaper, otherwise a very good copy. First English edition: also issued in the same year by the World Publishing Company, Cleveland and New York.
