Oxford University Press, 1956. First USA edition.  8vo.302pp; Bound in pale red /rust coloured cloth with dark blue text on spine. Illustrated with line drawings by Ardizzone. On front loose endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Dust jacket is not clipped but in dollars, some small nicks/tears at top of spine, corners slightly bumped, else a very good copy, almost fine copy.

‘This is Eleanor Farjeon’s selection of the favourite of her own short stories for children .

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone’s work in the 1960’s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
