Oxford University Press, Oxford, 1956. 8vo.; 302pp; Bound in pale red /rust coloured cloth with dark blue text on spine. Illustrated with line drawings by Ardizzone. On front loose endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Dust jacket is not clipped, some tears at top of spine and bottom of spine, small pieces missing. Corners bumped, spine faded where the wrapper hasn’t been able to protect it on the spine. Book very good, wrapper good only.

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone’s work in the 1960’s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
