Provenance: ofAndrew Murray, the ex-director of the Mayor Gallery in Cork Street London, with his surrealist book plate on blank endpaper. Andrew Murray knew Edward Ardizonne personally and had arranged several exhibitions for him at the Mayor Gallery in the 1960 s.
Reference: Brian Alderson C 31.p.’ E.A. also provided pen drawings for a series of Pick Knitwear advertisements that appeared in ‘Out of Doors’ magazine around 1948. These and drawings in the brochure are based upon a quantity of drafts in Sketchbook 2. ‘
