8vo. 160pp. First edition Bound in in publisher’s original green paper covered boards, silver title and author lettering to the black spine, silver illustration to the upper panel. Illustrated throughout with Edward Ardizzone line drawings printed in black. . On front end paper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Dust wrapper a little foxed with one small tear and lightly frayed., clipped, else very good. End papers a little discoloured otherwise book is very clean. Loosely inserted is The Scottish Arts Council label for an exhibition, in which this copy was lent for.

Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s. Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
