Book’. 11 items includes the colour lithograph published in Signature, various cutting proof illustrations etc in a folder marked ‘John Nash. Notes & Newspaper cuttings. Proofs with annotations from John Nash the Painter as Illustrator, includes the first 24 pages of the book, larger margin proofs, 2 pages of autograph notes, a few illustions: in a folder marked ‘Prelims and Introduction’. 64 sheets of illustrations, proofs, with a few photographs, annotations, some cropped, in a folder marked ‘Chapter 3 Illustrations and Wood Engravings’. 73 sheets proof copies with annotations of the text of ‘John Nash: the Painter as Illustrator’, with a copy of the original Gore text as published by the R.A. ina folder marked ‘John Nash MS’. 26 pages of autograph notes, mostly collating critical writings on Nash, 15 other sheets, cuttings, photographs proofs, a photocopy of the essay by Max Beerbohm ‘About the Drawings’ in a folder marked ‘John Nash Colour’. 36 original b/w photographs of works by Nash, all with annotations to reverse, 7 sheets of copy copies of letters of Nash, in a folder marked ‘J.N.Letters’. Proofs of the first 46 pages of the book ‘John Nash the painter as illustrator’, with numerous annotations, with other duplicate sheets, a variant of the cover some autograph notes etc in a folder made from a copy of the dust-wrapper of the book. Circa 100 proof illustrations with a couple of prospectuses in a folder marked ‘John Nash, page proofs’.
