Tom Phillips [British 1937- 2022]

Artist and teacher. Born in London, he attended Oxford University and did a degree in Anglo Saxon literature, after which he studied at Camberwell School of Art and Crafts. In 1964 he exhibited at the Young Contemporaries and at the AIA Gallery the following year.

He taught at Bath Academy of art in the mid 1960’s. Elected RE in 1987 and in the RA in 1989. His work has been widely exhibited. In 1999 a fire at his studio destroyed much of his work.
