The painting is signed and dated ’37 in black paint by the artist to the lower right . The sheet has a serrated edge along the right margin indicating it is from a large sketchbook. The paper is grubby especially in the lower margins with a diagonal crease along the lower right corner and a horizontal crease along the lower margin, the lower left corner is creased and soiled, else good.
