Alan Green [British 1932-2004]

Alan Green painter, print maker and teacher, born in London in 1932.  He studied at Beckenham School of Art and The Royal College of Art, in between which he served two years of national service in Korea.  By the mid–1960’s, in response to the influence of American abstract painting, Green began working on colour field paintings.   He taught at various Art Colleges including Hornsey College of Art, Leeds Polytechnic and Ravensbourne College of Art. He regularly exhibited at Annely Juda Fine Art and had solo shows in 2008 and 2022.   His work can be found in public institutions including the Tate Gallery, Leeds City Art Gallery , British Council among others.
