PRICE, Trevor

Trevor Price    British 1966-

Printmaker born in Redruth, Cornwall. He studied at Falmouth School of Art and Winchester School of Art. He was elected RE in 1994 and was their Vice President, 2013-18.  He has exhibited at Christies Contemporary in Bath; Honor Oak Gallery; Lamont galleries, to name a few. In 1998 he had a solo show at Zella Gallery, Printspace and The Bettie Morton gallery in 2003.

He has won several print making prizes including Printmaking Today Award in 2017. His work can be found in various collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Ashmolean Museum,, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Guandong Museum of Art, Yale University, etc.

‘The artists intention is for the viewer to get lost in the mark making and abstractions when viewed close up, but from a distance for the images to become highly representational and almost photographic. There is however no photographic process involved and everything is handmade and printed by hand.’

(At a distance they look like photographs, but close to you can see each line and cut, completely different)
