Noel Myles     (British 1947 -)

Noel B. Myles was born in Wood Green, London 1947. He studied at Hornsey College of Art and Walthamstow School of Art 1966-1970. A painter-turned-photographer, Myles has spent some 20 years documenting the East Anglian countryside in a series of images made up of dozens of individual shots and works with the photographic image, extending it beyond the single moment and static viewpoint, and is known for his large-scale collages composed of small individual photographs, taken from various view points and at different times, which when joined together make up the larger image. He draws influence from painting, using the texture, line, tone, and colour as a painter would use brush strokes. Noel has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; the Contemporary Art Society; Royal Photographic Society; Chappel Galleries, Essex; Byard Art, Cambridge;Mill Tye Gallery, Sudbury and extensively in Europe with solo shows at Cork Street Galleries and Gainsborough House Museum and Gallery.
